Wild Cozy Free Roundup: October Edition
what I'm watching, reading, and listening to + what's coming up on the podcast and authenticity office hours
Welcome to the 2nd Wild Cozy Free Roundup! Another shoutout to
for helping me conceive this idea. You can expect a monthly roundup in your inbox at the beginning of each month, outlining what’s come up on the blog + what I’m reading, watching, listening to, and writing!Who I’m Chatting With…
This month, you’ll hear conversations between me and my friends
and Melissa Mitt on the What Authenticity Means To Me podcast. What We’re Talking About in Authenticity Office Hours…
I created Authenticity Office Hours - formerly known as Authenticity Tuesdays - because I wanted a (virtual) space to come together and have real, authentic discussions about a range of topics like friendship, emotions, rest, intuition, gossip, and more.
This month we’ll be meeting on 10/15 and 10/22 from 5 - 6 PM PST
On Monday, October 15th, we’ll discuss authenticity and TRAVEL.
On Tuesday, October 22nd, we’ll discuss authenticity and MONEY.
I always send out a reminder with the discussion topics on the day of!
To view some of our past discussion prompts, check out the highlight on my Instagram page.
I won’t share which books I’m reading because I’m self-conscious BUT I do want to support the authors whose books I am devouring and also shoutout to the bookstore where I got them!
Talia Herbert and Rebekah Witherspoon - you have a forever fan in me.
And I cannot WAIT to check out the new Meet Cute Bookshop once they reopen!
I read books by these authors within hours. I couldn’t put them down, which is saying a lot for me, because my attention span for reading was destroyed during 2020, between teaching elementary school students online, and the constant intake of news we were all taking in.
I’m also fully recommitted to my novel (yay!) thanks to really unexpected and perfect insight from a friend and mentor. I was describing the plot of my book to her and she said, “It’s like you’re remembering it - not making it up.” Her words immediately resonated. Have you ever felt that way about a work of fiction? Like you know the story you created so well that it feels like a memory?
My therapist also inspired the title for an essay I started working on for New Yorker Goes West and I’m very excited about that one.
One Last Thing —
I’ll be walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walk this month, here in San Diego! I’m so excited to raise both funds and awareness for Suicide Prevention. It is a cause near and dear to my heart, and I’m working up the courage to share more about (ex: experiences that I’ve lived and witnessed.) What I’ll say for now, is that I’m deeply grateful to be alive, and to have access to the support that I need.
If you’d like to donate, click below. Any amount is greatly impactful, and all goes to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Okay, that’s all for now! Comment below and let me know what you’re watching, reading, listening to, and talking about! Any overlap with what I wrote here? Something totally different I’ve never heard of? I want to hear it all!
Okay so I watched The Perfect Couple and if you're not finished, I'll tell you this....you will not figure it out until the last 20 minutes 🤣
Looking forward to your content this month and I REALLY want to try making it to at least one of your Tuesdays.
Oooo this October has so much to look forward to! 🥰
