can't see where my life is heading, but I can see the bottom of my sink

a song about giving yourself credit when life feels hard

I wrote this about a year ago, and it’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. The phrase “I know I’m working hard, and sometimes I can see it” came from one of my best friends during a conversation about how it can be hard to see our own progress when there’s no tangible ‘proof’ of how hard we’re working.

I hum this one to myself all the time. It’s become a nice reminder that the small things aren’t small, and I’m not the lowest person on earth (even though I sometimes feel like it).

Also, here’s a free essay that I wrote called “Clean Mind, Clean Sink, Can’t Lose.” You would think with all this talk of dishes, that I’m really good at staying on top of my dishes. If you think that, you are sorely mistaken. I literally feel like they multiply over night.

Okay, on with this song, here we go!
